The next Maple Crest Senior Living, 700 Maple Court, Bluffton, Sunday buffet is Nov. 10, according to Daren Lee, director of Maple Crest.

The menu includes:
• Roasted turkey with gravy
• Caramel apple pork chop
• Sweet potato casserole
• Green beans
• Dinner rolls
• Pumpkin pie
• coffee and iced tea.

The buffet is in the Patio Room at Maple Crest from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. It is open to all adults 55 and older at a cost of $7.50 per person.

The winner of Week 10 of The Icon football contest is Barry Schneck.  He correctly picked 14 games this week.

Mother Nature played a trick on Halloween this year. Rain delayed the door-to-door event from Thursday to Saturday evening.

Never mind, the show went on. Here's a sampling of masked men, girls and boys who visited The Icon headquarters on Grove Street on Saturday.

Is there anything more delicious than a homemade pie? On Friday, over 120 people took their fill of pies during the pie baking contest and spaghetti dinner hosted by Maple Crest Senior Living Village in Bluffton. 

Eighteen pies were entered and judged in three categories. Kim Keck and Amber Henry combined their skills and won the title of Best of Show with their Apple Caramel Pecan and shared the $100 grand prize. Each winner in the other categories won $50 for first, $25 for second and $15 for third place.
