Several Bluffton eighth graders participated in the state science fair on May 9 in Columbus. Six Bluffton students advanced to districts and four advanced to the state fair, according to Dave Bracy, science teacher.

Brandon Anspach, a junior from Rawson, was a member of the Ohio Northern University's Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) Baja team that finished fifth overall at the Baja SAE Birmingham competition held April 14-17.
Fifty-eight teams from several countries, including the United States, Canada, South Korea and Mexico, traveled to Birmingham, Ala., for the event.
First graders at Bluffton Elementary School became published authors this month when they wrote and illustrated their very own books.
First grade teachers, Annie Gill, Ryan Dunlap, Amber Huffman and Teri Steinmetz partnered with StudentPublishing.com to give each student a free paperback copy of their own story.
The students have been working since November on stories for their books. An author party was held May 23 so that students could celebrate their first books
