Sam Stucky, a musician in Pittsburgh who graduated Bluffton University in 2016, is experiencing success in the field of alternate rock.
He released a new single “Breathe In,” on Sept. 25. In October he released another single, titled “No One Else.” In November he released a single titled “Nothing Special.”

Mark Sommers is the winner of the Bluffton Icon college football bowl contest. Of the 73 entries, he picked 12 correct winners and also picked both tie-breakers. He receives a 1-item, 14-inch Padrone's Pizza.
Angie Guinn was the winner of the Ada Icon contest.

Celia Smith, a senior, is the December Bluffton High School student of the month.
She is involved in many activities including Drama Club, swim team, Latin Club, SADD, 4-H, Gatekeepers and is an SOS tutor after school.
She is in the National Honor Society and has received academic awards three times and also received the academic scholar award.
She is a member of the volleyball team and the Bluffton swim club. She is employed at Arby's in Bluffton and in her spare time she enjoys singing, volunteering, drawing, painting, reading and writing.

Icon: What have you been doing since graduating from BHS?
Derek: I’ve been attending Xavier University where I study English and Accounting. I play guitar in the Xavier Jazz Orchestra and Xavier Singers, which is a group of singers and dancers with a live band. I also play sousaphone in the Xavier Pep Band and I am a member of the Students for Life club. I come back to Bluffton during breaks.
