FROM THE ALLEN COUNTY SHERIFF - The Allen County Sheriff’s Office has an open investigation regarding a scam that occurred in Beaverdam.
The victim reported she was contacted by someone using the phone number 202-455-5956 who claimed to be from the Legal Affairs Department and accused her of tax fraud.
The victim reported she told the caller she had not received any paperwork regarding this. A short time later and while still speaking with the man on the phone there was a knock on her door.

The Bluffton police department was involved in the recent investigation of Dr. James A. Gideon, M.D., Bluffton rheumatology and internal medicine physician, Ryan Burkholder, police chief, confirmed to the Icon on Monday.
Burkholder said that State Medical Board of Ohio contact the police department shortly after it began the investigation of Dr. Gideon involving sexual misconduct with patients.
The Hancock County Sheriff’s Office said the deaths of a male and female in a rural Ada house Monday night appear be drug related. The bodies have been sent to Lucas County for autopsy.
