Back-to-back public meetings on Bluffton natural gas aggregation

Prior to the June 26 regular council meeting, the Village of Bluffton will hold Natural Gas Aggregation Public Hearings at 6 and 6:30 p.m. at Bluffton Town Hall.

The public hearings are an opportunity for residents to address council on the topic of natural gas aggregation. 

Aggregation was approved by Bluffton voters in the May 2 election with 279 yes votes and 39 no votes to the following:

Proposed (Resolution) Gas Aggregation Village of Bluffton A majority affirmative vote is necessary for passage Shall the Village of Bluffton have the authority to aggregate the retail natural gas loads located in the Village of Bluffton, and for that purpose, enter into service agreements to facilitate for those loads the sale and purchase of natural gas, such aggregation to occur automatically except where any person elects to opt out?

Summary of June 12 Bluffton Council meeting

For the last Council meeting of spring, casual polo shirts were de rigueur around the table, with Solicitor Elliott Werth making a statement in bright pink.  Mayor Rich Johnson spurned the trend in his signature sport coat, and Councilor Joe Sehlhorst was understated in a button-down work shirt.

COMMITTEE REPORTS
Beginning with Committee reports, Councilor Jerry Cupples described some minor changes to insurance coverage, and asked that Council approve the renewals. Councilor Ben Stahl had a long list of activities by the Tree Commission, including a neighborhood-wide overhaul of Riley Creek Village and new designs for the layout of soccer fields next to SRK. June council and committee meeting dates

The following meetings have been announced by the Village of Bluffton. They will be held at Bluffton Town Hall, 154 N. Main.

Insurance Committee on Wednesday, June 14 at noon.

Utilities Committee on Wednesday, June 14 at 12:30 p.m.

Natural Gas Aggregation Public Hearings on Monday, June 26 at 6:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.

Village Council on Monday, June 26 at 7:00 p.m.

Finance Committee on Thursday, June 29 at noon.

On Monday, June 12, the Village of Bluffton Council will hold a regular meeting with the attached agenda.

Summary of May 2023 Board of Education meeting

The Bluffton Exempted Village Schools Board Of Education held a Regular Meeting in the Elementary Library at 7:30 p.m. on May 15, 2023. All board members--Larry Hoffman, Roni Kaufman, Wes Klinger, Jeremy Scoles and Brad Dailey--were present. Eight members of the public were present.

All items requiring the approval of the board were passed unanimously.
