The two most frequently asked questions in Bluffton this month are:
• When in clean-up week?
• What do we do with the Republic trash and recycle carts?
The answers follow: Clean up week May 18-21
Village of Bluffton clean up week is Monday to Thursday, May 18-21, according to Jesse Blackburn, village administrator.
Dumpsters will be placed at the Bluffton recycle center on Spring Street during this period.
Ohio's personal care services such as hair salons, barbershops, day spas, nail salons, and tanning facilities may reopen on Friday, May 15, according to Gov. Mike DeWine.
Ohio Governor Mike DeWine, Lt. Governor Jon Husted, and Dr. Amy Acton, MD, MPH, announced the next phase of the Responsible RestartOhio plan as it relates to restaurants, bars, and personal care services.
As part of the announcement, Governor DeWine reminded Ohioans that COVID-19 is still incredibly dangerous and stressed the importance of continuing to exercise safe health habits as different sectors of the economy begin to reopen.
Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio invites volunteers to join a cloth gown-making project, according to Chris Moser.
“We have already been blessed with some help in this process, but would like to make another 100 gowns,” Moser told the Icon.
Volunteers need to know that the required fabric is already ordered. It will arrive soon.
“If you are willing to cut fabric into pieces, or arrange cut pieces, cuffs and ties into kits, or sew the gown with a surger, please contact us,” said Moser.
The Icon finally succeeded in capturing the LIttle Riley Creek ducklings in one photo – we count 13 following their mother.
This photo was taken from the bridge on Bentley Road looking toward the university, in case you'd like to see them in person. They perform in that location daily.
Below is our attempt to photograph them earlier in the week. At that point the hadn't learned the parade formation demonstrated in today's photo.
