On Tuesday's ballot - and yes, Bluffton benefits from the levy

A county-wide levy is on the Tuesday, May 7, Ohio primary.

It is a small sales tax increase renewal for the Allen County Regional Transit Authority. The tax is one-tenth of one percent, which equals 2 cents on a $20 purchase.

And, yes, Bluffton benefits from the tax. The Icon provides the following Q & A about the levy:

The Bluffton Public Library program will cover 2019 Summer Programming during the Friday, May 10, Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce breakfast, according to Paula Scott, chamber CEO.

Opening day May 5; produce varies by the season

Opening day for the Bluffton Farmers Market is Saturday.

Located in the Citizens National Bank parking lot at 102 S. Main St.,, the market runs from 8:30 a.m. to noon every Saturday morning from May through October.

Managed by Greg Probst, the Bluffton Farmers Market has more than 20 vendors signed up for the full year. Products and vendors vary by the season, giving shoppers a selection of fresh, local products. Vegetables, fruits, plants, and cottage foods are included in the market.

Benefits three non-profits: Community Assistance Program, Bluffton Family Recreation, Child Development Center

Bluffton Diesel Service and Southgate Lanes’ “Help Bluffton” Scotch mixed doubles bowling benefit on April 20 raised $4,974 to support three local non-profits:

• Bluffton Community Assistance Corp.
• Bluffton Family Recreation
• Bluffton Child Development Center

Donations to the community assistance program will support the Bluffton food pantry. Donations to BFR support its programming. Donations to the child development center support its playground fund.
