Pavement repairs are necessary for both lanes of northbound I-75, just south of the County Road 13/Lima Avenue overpass (north of the Hancock County Rest Stop), following an overnight accident. Currently, a timeline to reopen northbound I-75 is unknown.
The ramp to the rest area is closed to vehicles, however, the rest area is open and accessible to pedestrians stopped in traffic.
Motorists are being directed to State Route 235/Exit 145. Follow detour: SR 235, CR 313, CR 9, SR 12, northbound I-75.
Life in Bluffton changed forever in 1987. It’s changing again.
In 1987 the Jerry Lewis family opened a McDonald’s Restaurant on State Route 103. Thirty-one years later the restaurant had its third make over and this one cost more than the original building.
The Jerry Lewis Family Restaurants held a grand opening of its more than $1 million upgrade to its flagship restaurant on Tuesday. The design theme is “wood and stone.”
The Village of Bluffton's first mosquito spraying of the summer starts tonight, (Wednesday, May 30), according to Jesse Blackburn, village administrator.
He told the Icon that spraying is scheduled for every Wednesday, if necessary. Spraying will begin around dusk.
Depending upon weather conditions if spraying does not take place on Wednesday, it will occur on Thursdays.
Bluffton school musicians in the strings program will continue to make music during the summer, according to Rachael Lewis, strings teacher.
The program is free and open to students interested in continuing with their instrument in the summer. Rehearsals are in the elementary school strings room.
Summer strings moves to Wednesdays this year. Here’s the rehearsal dates and schedule:

• June 13 – no morning classes (afternoon fiddling only)
• June 20
• June 27
The Sardines started practice on Tuesday for the Western Ohio Aquatic League season. Last year Bluffton finished third in the WOAL meet, for the team’s highest-ever finish.
With the Bluffton Community Swimming Pool open for the season, the staff announces its swim lesson plan.
All lessons are from 11:15 to 11:45 a.m., weekdays. Each session had eight lessons and the cost is $30 for persons who have pool passes and $40 for persons who do not have pool passes.
Private lessons are available, subject to availability, at $75 for eight lessons. Sign-up and payment may be made at the pool.
