CASA of Allen and Putnam Counties, a program of Crime Victim Services, has announced that eight new volunteer advocates were sworn in as officers of the court by Allen County Juvenile Court Judge Todd Kohlrieser during a swearing-in ceremony at The Met on Tuesday, October 31.
Prior to being sworn in, volunteers and their guests heard from former CASA Director Tim Thurston on the lifelong impact each of these volunteers will have on children in our communities.

The November 7 general election will present the following ballot items to voters in the Bluffton School district, the Village of Bluffton, Richland Township and Orange Township.
All Village and Bluffton Schools public offices have only one candidate on the ballot and in some cases only write-in candidates. Bluffton Mayor Richard Johnson told the Icon that while he is running unopposed, he welcomes “votes of confidence” from the residents of Bluffton.
In an October 24 article, The Lima News reported that a rural Bluffton man was sentenced for felonious assault following a May 14 incident in Putnam County. Derek Butcher pled no contest to the charges and received a 60-day jail sentence and five years probation.
