Discussing considerations for street improvement projecty

West Elm Street property owners between Spring and Bentley will have an information meeting with the Bluffton council streets, lights and alleys committee next week.

The meeting, at 7 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 22, in the third floor of the town hall, will enable the village to share its plans for West Elm Street improvements set for later this year.

Also attending the meeting will be representatives of Choice One, the engineering firm for the project.

Rehearsals in Ada and Lima this spring

Noteworthy Community Choir announces opening season auditions, March 12 - 17, according to Vicki Mills, Ada, choir artistic director.

Interested singers, ages 8 - 88+ should contact NCC to schedule an audition.  NCC will make a guest appearance at the Ohio Northern University, Lima Symphony Orchestra Patriotic Pops Concert on June 30, in addition to performances throughout the area. 

Lima-built Berkshire frequently passed through Bluffton

The Mad River and Nickel Plate Road Railroad Museum, Bellevue, announced plans to have NKP Berkshire steam locomotive 757 return to Bellevue.

The Lima-built steam locomotive that once passed through Bluffton on a regular basis, is currently part of the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania.

Plans are underway to relocate the locomotive from Strasburg, Pa., to the Bellevue museum site for a static display.

This year the district, staff professional development has been wrapped around Differentiated Instruction. 

Allen County Public Health reminds the community that it is not too late to get a flu shot to help prevent the spread of the flu virus.

ACPH has flu vaccine available at no charge for children and adults who have no insurance. There is an administration fee, but no one will be turned away for their inability to pay.

Flu shots are available at Allen County Public Health on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 8 – 9 a.m., and from 3 – 4 p.m. while supplies last.
