Village pays for training at Apollo Career Center

Bluffton EMS is currently accepting applications to join our volunteer department. Applicants should reside inside or within 1 mile of the Village of Bluffton. If you already hold an EMT certification or are interested in completing a paid, EMT course at Apollo please give us a call.
We are particularly interested in candidates who are available to respond during daytime working hours. Those interested in more information on our requirements and our department, please call Chief Jan Basinger (419) 358-2066 ext. 293.

Middle school accepting Hurrican Harvey relief items this week

Bluffton Middle School students, teachers and staff are actively involved in Hurricane Harvey relief efforts, according to Kyle Leatherman, middle school principal.

The middle school has organized a "Bluffton for Babies," donation drive. It started today and continues through Friday, Sept. 19.

Middle school students nvite Icon viewers to donate any of the following items to the drive:
• Diapers
• Wipes
• Baby clothes
• Baby blankets
• Baby formula
• Baby bottles

While the Icon was on vacation in Iowa, we couldn't resist looking for interesting license plates. This one was on a 2004 Mustang.

August’s high-low temperatures ranged from a low of 46 on Aug. 26 to a high of 89 on Aug. 16, according to Guy Verhoff, Pandora weather observer.

August’s 2017 average temperature was 69.3 degrees. The normal average is 71.1. August’s 2017 rainfall was 3.31 inches and the normal average is 3.28.

Event enables Bluffton businesses to introduce products and services to university students

Calling all Bluffton businesses.

The Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with Bluffton University, will host the annual business showcase on Thursday, Sept. 21, at Marbeck Center Commons on the Bluffton University Campus.

Here's the details:
Setup Time:  10:30 a.m.
Showcase  Time: 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Cost: 
$30 for members
$60 for non-members
Registration deadline: Monday, Sept. 18

2016-17 yearbooks are in:  2017 graduates can stop in the high school office to pick up their copy. Additional books are available for $65.

Pictures:  If you take pictures of your child at any school event, email it to Mrs. Oberly at [email protected] and it may be used on the website or in the yearbook.

Pages
