North Main Street shop features works by at least a dozen local artists

Gallery 323 is open in December. It features works in an assortment of media by at least a dozen Bluffton area artists.

The gallery, at 323 N. Main St., was launched as a storefront where local artisans could sell their art.

The late Gregg Luginbuhl opened the studio. The Luginbuhl family decided to reopen the gallery for the month of December.

Karen Luginbihl said, “Gregg's wish was to keep the gallery running, and while we don't yet know the long-term plan, we want to give the artists involved a chance to sell their work for the holidays.”

Tuesday, Dec. 6 is the last anticipated day for leaf pick-up in Bluffton, according to Nancy Kindle.

Residents may still bring their leaves to the brush dump or bag them and they will be picked up when brush is picked up.

Some large families and multiple individuals need assistance

The Bluffton Community Assistance Program is busy at this time of year. Here’s a chat the Icon had with Jami Crawfis, who directs the  program's food pantry.

Jami, are there families in the service area of the food pantry that need assistance at Christmas?

I still have a few large families and multiple individuals to adopt out.

The adopting families will provide fresh, frozen and/or canned food items (or even gift cards to a grocery store) for each family as well as gifts from their wish list.
