It's all part of a small-town high school homecoming celebration

There's something about a homecoming bonfire.

And, here's the lastest one to watch. Jamie Nygaard followed the event from start to finish in the East College Avenue parking lot across from Harmon Field.

The Wednesday night party, hosted by the Bluffton HS Football Moms, helped launch this year's high school homecoming celebration.

The next event is Friday's best small town homecoming parade in Ohio. Parade line up at the Centre starts at 5 p.m. The parade heads south on Main Street at 5:30 p.m., turning at College toward the football stadium.

R Coop, 2168 Road R, Bluffton, is reopening Friday, Sept. 30, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday, Oct. 1, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Shoppers will find an offering unique repurposed fall, Halloween, Christmas and OSU/Michigan items. There will also be outdoor fall decore available. Check out R Coop on Facebook.
Hours through the end of October are Friday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Still some table space available for Sept. 19 event at Marbeck

Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce members show their products and services to Bluffton University students in the annual fall business showcase on Thursday, Sept. 29.

Traditionally 25 businesses have table displays in Marbeck Center during a lunch in September. There they meet students and often offer prizes in raffles.

The event is from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Businesses have until Monday to register for a table at this year’s showcase. Contact Gen Akroyd at [email protected] for all the details.

Is it autumn yet?

This past week's high temperatures makes us think it's still summer. Highs in the past seven days were in the 70s and 80s. Lows were in the 50s and 60s. Rain didn't reach 1 inch.

The September weather report is in the attachment.

Don't forget the 5:30 p.m. Friday parade and pre-game king and queen announcement

Bluffton High School is in the midst of one of its most exciting weeks of the fall: Homecoming Week. Several events take place that are open to the public:

Wednesday bonfire
