Representatives from the Hancock County Convention and Visitors’ Bureau, Findlay, will tell about their work in promoting Hancock County events during the Friday, Oct. 9, Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce breakfast.

Their work includes promoting Bluffton events since our community is also part of Hancock County.

The United Way of Bluffton, Beaverdam and Richland Township is gearing up for its 2015-16 solicitation. This year's goal is a modest $25,000.

Bluffton residents recently received a letter from the Allen County Auditor's Office. 

The county auditor has completed the reevaluation of real property in the county. The letter informs property owners of their new real estate value for the 2015 tax year. These values will be reflected on the tax bill received in 2016.

According to Rhonda Eddy-Stienecker, auditor, "The purpose of the reevaluation is not to raise or lower taxes, but to update market value due to changes in the sales market and property conditions in the country.

We know Bluffton is real. And now there's a song that says so.

Earlier this summer Hannah Joy Brown (of Bluffton, South Carolina) sent the Bluffton chamber the attached video.

The Swiss Community Historical Society opened its Schumacher Homestead to the public on Sept. 26. The event offered a glimpse of farm life in rural Bluffton-Pandora.

In addition Maple Crest gathered an impressive collection of antique farm equipment. Added to the mix was an old-fashioned wheat threshing demonstration.

Bluffton High School Football Moms says there's still time for community groups to join the 2015 high school homecoming parade on Friday, Oct. 2.

The parade starts earlier this year due to the new 7 p.m. starting time for conference games.
