This weekend is garage sale heaven. The 2015 Lincoln Highway Buy-Way Yard Sale offers 26 garage sales in the Village of Ada and the surrounding countryside.

As generation of Bluffton residents watched without acting, over the decades the Shannon Cemetery fell into disrepair.
Tombstones were broken. Several disappeared. Others were tossed into the creek bank while fallen trees knocked over additional stones. Well-meaning persons apparently replaced some stones in wrong locations.
Efforts to fix what damage was done over those decades began a few years ago as Dick Boehr took the project on. His cemetery proposal has previously been posted in the Icon.
Blanchard River Watershed Partnership receives a $29,930 grant for “Sediment and Phosphorus Reduction in the Middle Riley Creek watershed.”
The Great Lakes Commission has awarded the Blanchard River Watershed Partnership (BRWP) a $29,930 Great Lakes Basin Funding grant for sediment and phosphorus reduction in the Middle Riley Creek watershed.
Since most of the land use in the Middle Riley Creek watershed (72.6%) is for growing crops, the Best Management Practices (BMPs) will be used on fields to prevent the loss of phosphorus and soil from the fields.
Bluffton school offices are now open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays in anticipation of the new school year. Here is some information posted on the school website concerning back-to-school details.

The Bluffton Police Department in conjunction with the Pandora Police Department with assistance from Bluffton, Beaverdam and Pandora fire and EMS departments threw a party at the Bluffton Communtiy Swimming Pool on Aug. 4.
The following City of Findlay railroad crossing closures will effect local firms, workforce and trucking companies in August.

CSX Railroad Crossing Closures:
• Hancock County Road 99 railroad crossing will be closed for three weeks until August 24 for repairs. The crossing is located south of the Whirlpool plant between Hancock County 220/North Main Street and Distribution Drive
• Hancock County Road 215 and 216 are expected to reopen very soon
