The Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce will hold a free real estate workshop on Friday, Feb. 13, following the chamber monthly breakfast.

The workshop, open to the public, is from 8:45 to 9:15 a.m. in the third floor of the Bluffton town hall. CCR RealLiving realtors will lead the session.

A local contingent of longtime nurses -- all graduates of the Mennonite College of Nursing at Illinois State University -- are cheering the recent ranking of ISU's online nursing program as one of the Best Online Nursing Programs. U.S. News & World Report ranked ISU's online program as 93rd on their list and the only public institution in illinois to be ranked.

Krysti and Philip Schey of Bluffton, Ohio have recently been recognized as Nationally Certified Teachers of Music (NCTM) by the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA). They are certified as piano teachers.

Krysti Schey earned her B.A. in Music from Bluffton University in 2008, then earned her Masters in Piano Pedagogy from Bowling Green State University in 2010. Krysti is the Independent Music Teachers Forum Chair (IMTF) for Ohio’s MTNA, and is the co-vice president for marketing and membership for Middle West Ohio’s Music Teacher Association.

Apollo Career Center will kick off Career Tech Education Month with the annual  All Area Boards Meeting held Thursday, Feb. 5, at 6 p.m. in the Apollo Commons.

The program highlights include a presentation by Superintendent Judy Wells and Nate Neuenschwander, President of Touchstone CPM, on the progress of the seven-phase construction/renovation of Apollo Career Center.

Columbus Grove High School will host the state-wide college financial aid event “College Goal Sunday” (CGS) at 1 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 8.

This free event, presented by the Ohio Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (OASFAA), is endorsed by the Ohio Board of Regents, and provides experts from local colleges to assist students and parents with online completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

The Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce highlights the Bluffton Senior Citizens Association at its Friday, Feb. 13, breakfast meeting. The meeting is in the third floor of the Bluffton town hall, 154 N. Main St.

Tonya Meyer, director of the association, is the morning speaker. The association celebrates its 45th anniversary in November.

A free breakfast will be served from 7 to 7:30 a.m. The Dough Hook of Bluffton will provide the breakfast. The breakfast meeting is from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m.
