It’s December, but the weather outside is not frightful. It’s “fallish,” wouldn’t you agree.

So far this month the high temperature was 43 on Dec. 1 and Dec. 8. The low was 23 on Dec. 1, according to Guy Verhoff, Pandora weather observer.

Christmas Crafts is the theme of this month's Silly Saturday program at
BFR Sports & Fitness. Children ages 5-8 are invited to create
three craft projects that can be used as gifts this holiday season. Silly
Saturday will be held from 9:30-11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 13; leader
will be Kelly Honse. Cost is $12/$8 BFR members and covers all the
materials needed for the crafts. Call BFR, 419-358-4150, to register.

The Icon, in cooperation with the Bluffton Post Office has a special Santa mail box in the post office lobby.

Drop your Santa letter off in the box. All letters will be delivered with care from the post office to The Icon. Then watch the Icon to see it posted. Since we know Santa Claus reads the Icon, he'll see your letter.

Bluffton safety service officials, Jon Kinn and Rick Skilliter, will review with Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce members plans for fire department major purchases in 2015. Their presentation takes place at the Friday, Dec. 12, chamber breakfast in the Bluffton town hall.

The Western Ohio Chapter of the Lincoln Highway Association will hold its monthly meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 16 in Delphos.  Members and guests will dine at 6 p.m. at The Grind Café and Coffee House, 226 N. Main Street and a short business meeting will follow.  Near 7 p.m., attendees will proceed to 241 N. Main Street, where they will tour the Delphos Canal Commission and Museum's 16th Annual Christmas Tree Festival and display.  The public is invited.

Bluffton Community Preschool is still accepting enrollment for 2014-2015 program year, according to Shelly Matijevich, director.

"Stop anytime during hours of operation to check us out," she said. "We are excited to have your child for this program year or early sign up for 2015-2016 program year. Call us, email or look us up on Face Book-Bluffton Community Preschool."

Children need to be 3 years old on or before Aug. 1.
