Can you believe it: 9,132 hours of volunteer time donated to Bluffton Hospital in 2013.
The Bluffton Hospital Auxiliary held its annual volunteer recognition banquet April 28 at The Centre of Bluffton. More than 50 volunteers were recognized for their hours of service to the hospital.
During the event, the Auxiliary presented Bluffton Hospital with an $18,000 check. The funds were raised throughout 2013 through gift shop sales, vending machine sales, the annual Colorama bowling fundraiser and other fundraisers.
What would you wear to a masquerade ball? Bluffton High School students experienced that opportunity Saturday evening. This year's junior-senior prom took place at The Centre and "masquerade ball" was the theme.

It's a masquerade ball at The Centre on Saturday evening. This year's Bluffton High Schools's junior-senior prom will be held there and its theme is "Masquerade Ball."
The decorated Centre will be open for public to view at 7 p.m. The official prom takes place from 8 to 11 p.m. A post-prom is held at Ebenezer Mennonite Church.
No matter Saturday's weather, an eager crowd of prom watchers will be stationed at The Centre on North Main Street as students enter and are announced.

Bluffton Family Practice, the medical practice of Dr. Darrel R. Hotmire, D.O., will hold an open house from 9 a.m. to noon, Saturday, April 26, at its 582 Harmon Road office.
The open house celebrates the new building of the practice and enables the public to meet Cindy Stechschulte, RRT, PA-C, who recently joined the practice.
The new office includes five exam rooms and one additional room, plus expanded office space. Dr. Hotmire added that an important reason for the expansion was to add additional medical professionals to the staff.
Southgate Lanes bowling alley will be recognized by the Bluffton Sportmen's Club during this year's Sunday, May 4, 70th annual trout derby at the Buckeye, according to Tom Augsburger of the club.
