The Bluffton Lions will be counting pedestrians and bikes on village pathways from September 11-17.

The data collected is used when appying for grants to build new pathways.

The volunteer counters will display signs identifying them as Bluffton LIons. Organizers note, "We hope folks will check out the signs before calling the police, who are are aware of the census."

Return to Dignity recovery meetings held at the Bluffton First Methodist
church are being discontinued. Another anonymous recovery meeting in the area is:

The Lima/Allen County Safe Community Coalition is gearing up for the 25th annual Safe Community Awards and asking the public for nominations of outstanding individuals who live or work in Allen County. 

Members of the community can be nominated for their work in outreach, enforcement, rehabilitation, education, and emergency services.

All members of the public are encouraged to make nominations using the attached form HERE.

The ArtSpace/Lima Member Appreciation board meeting was held on August 24, 2023. The award for Volunteer of the Year, introduction of new Board of Trustees members and new Board of Trustees  officers were announced.

Kinsey Barrows, OSU Senior, who has compiled over 350 hours of volunteer service to ArtSpace in the past summer. 

ODOT District 1 has announced that following construction projects are anticipated to affect highways in Allen County during the week of August 4. All outlined work is weather permitting.

  • State Route 66 between State Route 81 and the city of Delphos will be restricted to one lane via flaggers for pavement repairs.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol is urging drivers to be safe this Labor Day weekend. Troopers will focus enforcement efforts on removing impaired drivers from Ohio’s roadways.

The Labor Day weekend reporting period begins Friday, September 1 at 12 a.m. and ends Monday, September 4 at 11:59 p.m.
