It was no surprise that Mitt Romney won the majority of votes in Bluffton and Richland Township on Nov. 6. Both those bodies have voted Republican since the 1932 presidential election.

The next Bluffton Lions Club meeting is Tuesday, Nov. 20, at noon at Maple Crest. The speaker will be Melissa Weaver from Lodestar. She will present a program about preparing guide dogs for visually-handicapped children ages 10 to 18. Most programs supply dogs to adults only, so this program is one of a kind.
There's still time to enter the 2012 Bluffton Blaze of Lights parade. This year's parade is Saturday, Nov. 24. According to Junior Weihrauch, parade director, 70 units are already registered.
He said that this year's parade could reach 100 units. If so, it would be the largest-ever Blaze parade and would involve about 45 minutes worth of parade watching to see it all.
Several activities take place this month at Richland Manor. Here are some of those events:

• Nov 17 - Lima craft fair at fairgrounds, 9 p.m.
• Nov 18 - Sunday brunch, 11 - 12:30 p.m.
• Nov 19 - Bowling at Westgate, 10 a.m.
• Nov 21 - Birthday party with Alan Siebert, 2:45 p.m.
• Nov 22 - Thanksgiving celebration, 12 p.m.
• Nov 24 - Bluffton Blaze of Lights parade 5 p.m.
• Nov 30 - Allen county museum christmas tree festival 10 a.m.
In November 2006, Ohioans passed the Smoke-Free Workplace Act, making Ohio the 12th state to protect all workers and the public from exposure to secondhand smoke in public places. Approximately 280,000 Ohio worksites are impacted by this law.
