BHS Football Moms meet Sept. 12

The next meeting for the Bluffton High School Football Moms will be held Monday, Sept. 12, at 6:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall (basement) of Bluffton First United Methodist Church. The church is located at 116 Church Street, it is the dark brick church across the street from Bluffton Elementary School.

Judge Richard Warren Friday's chamber speaker; snowflake sponsors accepted until 9-9-11 for this year

Bluffton native and Allen County Common Pleas Judge Richard Warren will launch the 2011-12 monthly breakfast season for the Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce.

Judge Warren will speak at the 7:30 a.m., Friday, Sept. 9, chamber breakfast held in the third floor of the town hall.

The meeting is open to the public, and RSVPs are required by Wednesday at [email protected]. As of Saturday over 60 persons have RSVPed.

Next Bluffton Red Cross blood drive Sept. 16 at BHS

Bluffton's next American Red Cross blood drive is from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Friday, Sept. 16, in the Bluffton High School new gymnasium.

Individuals who are 17 years of age (16 with parental permission in Ohio), meet weight and height requirements (110 pounds or more, depending on their height) and are in generally good health may be eligible to donate blood.

August 2011 was wetter than normal

August was a wet month based on Bluffton weather history standards. August, 2011, registered 6.03 inches of rainfall. The normal average precitation for Augsut is 3.43 inches, according to Guy Verhoff, Pandora weather observer.

BFR Sports and Fitness starts new program year - classes for all ages

Youth and adult programs are starting up for the fall at BFR. After school sport skill classes will begin the week of Sept. 5.

The fall adult fitness class schedule is currently underway. Soccer Intramurals for youth ages 4 and 5 will begin Sept. 13. All BFR programs are open to the public. For more information about youth classes, visit the web site www.bfronline.com or stop by the facility.
