The Bluffton Post Office provided The Icon with the 2011 holiday mailing deadlines and deadlines for sending military mail in time for the holidays.

The Cardiac Rehabilitation Program at Blanchard Valley Hospital (BVH) has received recertification from the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR).

This recertification means that Blanchard Valley Hospital's Cardiac Rehabilitation Program meets or exceeds national benchmarks set by the AACVPR. It also recognizes the program for its commitment to improving quality of life by enhancing standards of care.

The Guidance Department of Bluffton High School is sponsoring a financial aid meeting for parents of juniors and seniors who are planning to continue their education beyond high school.

The meeting will be held at the high school cafeteria on Wednesday, Dec. 7, 7 p.m.

Lawrence Matthews, Director of Financial Aid and Bluffton University, will be the presenter. He will discuss financial aid and filing the FAFSA form.

The holidays can be a particularly difficult time to cope with the loss of a loved one. The Tree of Remembrance Memorial Service provides a forum where families can come together to express their grief, but also find peace for years to come.

On Sunday Dec. 4, at the Centre at Bluffton, 601 N. Main St., Bluffton Chiles-Laman Funeral Home will hold a Tree of Remembrance Memorial Service for those who have lost a loved one this year or in years past.
