Snow being dumped at the swimming pool

Bluffton snow plows hit the streets at 3 a.m. Monday, Jan. 31, according to Jamie Mehaffie, village administrator. He told The Icon that three village vehicles are plowing streets.

"I anticipate that the village crews will stop plowing sometime today where there is a lull in the storm," he said. "Then they will be back on the streets by evening."

Any way you approach it, we are headed into a potentially nasty week of winter weather. The Icon advises viewers to make plans accordingly.

Based on three Internet weather sites, predictions of anywhere from 8 to 14 inches of snow could occur here over the next three days. On top of that an ice storm is predicted.

Pandora-Gilboa schools are busy in February.

The P-G Music Boosters will hold a chicken barbecue dinner from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., Friday, Feb. 4, in the P-G School Auditeria. Tickets are $6.50 per person. The menu includes barbecue chicken, au gratin potatoes, green beans, dinner roll and a beverage. Tickets are on sale from P-G music students.

If the Farmers' Almanac is correct and the weather warms up, windows installation could start soon in the Bluffton Hospital construction project. That's on the tentative schedule for next week's progress at the construction site.
