Want a light show in your yard this holiday season? If so, help is on the way!

It's the first week of spring, but let's think about Christmas for a moment.

You've watched the Gift of Giving light show extravaganza set up across from Harmon Field for the past two holiday seasons. Ropp Triplett, the mastermind behind the project, thinks there could be several more of those light shows, but on smaller scales, scattered around Bluffton for the 2010 holiday season.

You know, this one sounds strange, but Zebulon Pike, for whom Pike's Peak is named, was born in 1778. Could it be his plate? You got a better idea?

It's official: spring is here - the Dari Freeze is open for business

Spring is quite literally a couple of days away and not only does that mean the return of warmer weather, but it also marks the return of some raved about treats from the Bluffton Dari Freeze, which opened its doors for the first time this season, 11th year overall, on Friday morning March 19.

Bill and Phyllis Marchal of Lafayette run the ice cream and food shop that offers some creative menu items like the reverse buckeye, which consists of peanut butter mixed with ice cream topped with fudge.

Your guess is as good as our's on thie plate's meaning. Is Buci a nickname. Was Buci born in 1950? Or, sorry, we are out of ideas. We spotted this plate in the Founders Hall parking lot.

School board okays replacement of BHS air conditioning chiller; will examine bids for Harmon Stadium repair

Several contract agreements made up much of the March 15 Bluffton school board agenda, however the most important two items were the discussion of the Harmon Field stadium repair and the replacement of high school air conditioning chiller.

The board authorized the Bluffton firm of R.D. Neff & Associates to develop bid specifications, to advertise the project and oversee the bidding process for renovation of the stadium. The bid opening is April 6. The board set a special meeting for April 12 to accept the Harmon Field bid.
