Call it a "working session," 45 members of the Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce put their heads together and focused on several issues involving the community. The session took place during the April 9 chamber breakfast in the town hall.

The chamber board asked its members to discuss four themes:

1 - Increasing communication to benefit member businesses

2 - Provide resources for members

3 - Inform and education members

4 - Grow and promote Bluffton

The Bluffton school board will hold a special meeting at 8 p.m., Monday, April 12, in the superintendent's office to discuss three items of business, according to Greg Denecker, superintendent.

It's official: The Bluffton Hospital multi-million dollar ER/OR renovation and expansion is underway.

With a ceremonial tossing of dirt by Isabelle, James S. and John West, on April 8, the project began. Following the West family, Ropp Triplett tossed a shovel of dirt at Bill Watkins, Bluffton Hospital chief administrative officer. Ropp and Mary Emma Triplett served as campaign co-chairs.

The project will create new, much needed space for Bluffton Hospital's emergency and surgery departments, as well as add professional/medical office space.
