FINDLAY__The visiting Bluffton bowling teams split a dual match at Findlay on Thursday, January 8 at Sportsman Lanes.

The Pirate boys won their match convincingly by a score of 2,383 pins to 2,031.

“Solid performance by the Pirate boys,” said Bluffton head bowling coach Ben Nye. “After game one, we were struggling a bit, but I felt like they were very close to putting together a good team game.

BLUFFTON__The Bluffton High School girls basketball team lost to visiting Northwest Conference foe Crestview 51-44 on Thursday, January 8.

The Pirate girls dropped to 8-6 overall and 1-1 in NWC play after the home defeat. 

Crestview improved to 6-7 overall and 2-2 in the NWC with the road upset win. 

Other than the second quarter, Bluffton was outscored only 37-35.

LIMA SHAWNEE __The visiting Bluffton High School girls basketball team rallied late to nip non-league rival Lima Shawnee 49-48 on Tuesday, January 6.

Pirate sophomore guard Maelee Miller poured in a season-high 20 points, including 11 big markers in the fourth quarter. 

She knocked down four two-point goals and one trey in the final stanza to lead the Pirates to the comeback win.

Bluffton trailed by 11 points going into the fourth period, but the visitors outscored Shawnee 19-7 over the final eight minutes to win by one.

FROM FACEBOOK__Bluffton Soccer Club has announced that Spring youth soccer registration is open for U18-U15 Rec & Travel teams.

  • The deadline to register is January 31.
  • Schedules will be sent to coaches on March 16.
  • Games begin March 28.
  • U8-U10 Riverdale Tournament is May 8-10 and the U12-U15 Bluffton Tournament is May 15-17.

PANDORA__The Bluffton High School girls basketball team went on the road and defeated local non-league rival Pandora-Gilboa 58-43 on Saturday, January 3.

The Pirate girls improved to 7-5 overall after the road rivalry victory.

Pandora-Gilboa fell to 5-5 with the defeat. 

Bluffton utilized a balanced offensive attack to win the contest.

Sophomore guard Maelee Miller topped the Pirate girls with 12 points. Junior Greta Myers netted 11 markers. Junior Gracie Warren and senior Macy Schaadt netted nine points apiece.
