Here are Bluffton High School's 2019 entries in the Division III state track meet that begins this morning, May 31.

• Baylor Garmatter (400 meters)

• Xavier Dunifon (300 hurdles and 110 hurdles)

• Jackson Steinmetz (3200 meter run)

• 4x400 relay  – Xavier Dunifon, Baylor Garmatter, Jonathon Schriner, Luke Young

The Pirates tied for third in the boys' regional team standings with Pandora-Gilboa. Running events at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium, Columbus, start Friday at 9:30 a.m.

Bluffton Black Girls' U11 travel soccer team won their league division. The girls are in Division 1 and this is their second year in a row winning their division.

Bluffton Black girls will move up to U12 this fall.

Travel soccer try outs are tonight (Thurday, May 30) at Bluffton village park.
• U9-U10: 6 -7 p.m.
• U11-U15: 7-8 p.m.
• In case of rain try-outs will be moved to BFR.

Garmatter, Dunifon win individual titles

TIFFIN - Three Bluffton track and field athletes qualified for state in the Div. III regional meet at Tiffin's Hoernemann Stadium Friday evening.

• Baylor Garmatter (400 meters)

• Xavier Dunifon (300 hurdles) each won regional titles.

• Jackson Steinmetz finished second in the 3200 meter run

• Dunifon made it in the 110 hurdles by coming in fourth.

DELPHOS - Bluffton had two baseball players earn All-Northwest Conference notice in voting conducted by the league coaches Monday night at Delphos.

Junior Cayden Rayle was voted second team All-NWC, while freshman Nick Prater was named honorable mention all-league.

Tony Rumer was a unanimous selection for NWC Coach of the Year

DELPHOS - Bluffton junior pitcher/slugger Libby Schaadt was voted Northwest Conference Player of the Year in voting conducted by the league coaches Monday night in Delphos.

Schaadt led the Pirates to a 20-2 record with a sparkling 18-2 mark of her own on the rubber. Both of Schaadt's and Bluffton's losses came to Carey, including in the district semifinals.

Boys' team finished 3rd; girls' 12th at district

Bluffton HS boys’ track team was edged out of the runner-up spot by 1.5 points in the district meet on Saturday, but will take a large contingent to the regional meet this weekend at Heidelberg. While the boys’ team finished third, the girls  squad finished 12th.

The boys will compete in seven events and the girls in one event.
