Kylee Barnett stands ready to play lacrosse Saturday afternoon at Dial-Roberson Stadium, but she did not score, nor did any member of either team because the officials did not show up.

The game against Olivet was postponed to another day. This was to be the inaugural game for women's intercollegiate lacrosse at ONU. The next home game is scheduled for 1 p.m., March 6, against Keuka, N.Y.

Bluffton High School boys’ basketball team roared out of the Division III sectional with two impressive wins.
 
6th seed - Bluffton 99
9th seed – Carey 34
 
6th seed – Bluffton 60
3rd seed – Coldwater 59
 
Here’s a summary of this week’s district tournament:
 
Playing at Lima Senior, Thursday, March 3, 6:15 p.m.
2nd seed – Spencerville vs. 5th seed Wayne Trace
 
8 p.m. contest

Bluffton High School boys’ avenged a history of tournament losses to Coldwater tonight (Feb. 25).
 
Playing in the underdog role, the Pirates defeated Coldwater 60-59 on a game-winning 3-pointer by Joel Siefker. The game was at the Elida Fieldhouse.
 
The win moves Bluffton to the district tournament next week. Watch the Icon for more game details.
 

Five Bluffton High School boys' senior basketball players received honorable mention listing on the all-Northwest Conference team announced earlier this week.

Honored were:
• Mitchell Ault
• Nick Friesen
• Joel Siefker
• Joe Schriner
• Brett Rumer

An attachment lists final NWC standings and first and second player players.

Two Bluffton High School girls' basketball player, both underclassmen, were named first team all-Northwest Conference, as voting was recently completed by league coaches.

Alivia Koenig, freshman, and Abbie Parkins, junior, were named to the first team. In addition, another underclassman, Andie Schmutz, junior, was named honorable mention.

Bluffton finished third in the NWC with a 6-2 record. The team, loaded with underclassmen, went 15-6 overall.

Kylee Barnett, Bluffton High School graduate, is a member of the Ohio Northern University women’s lacrosse team this spring.
 
Barnett is a junior at ONU majoring in exercise physiology. She will play defense on the team.
 
This is the inaugural season for women’s lacrosse at ONU. The first game is in Ada, at 4 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 27. ONU takes o.n Olivet
