Bluffton High School graduate Hannah Chappell-Dick has earned one final trip to NCAA Division III track and national meet,qualifying for next weekend's final meet in the 1500m.

A four-time All-American, Chappell-Dick is seeded No. 5 in the 1500m with her time of 4:28.62. She is a student at Eastern Mennonite University, Harrisonburg, Va.

The Bluffton Bucs midget football team is currently accepting registrations for the 2016 season.

Allen East defeated Bluffton in the opening district contest 6-2 on Wednesday at Bath.

Bluffton finished the season 13-7. Allen East advances at 15-13. Bluffton's runs were by Averey Rumer and Abbie Parkins. Jazmynn Wilson hit one RBI.

Sami Fruchey was the losing pitcher and ended her season at 10-6.

Bluffton High School's girls' softball team advanced to the district  tournament over the weekend.

BHS beat Coldwater 7 to 3 on May 11 in the Division III district semi quaterfinals  (formerly called sectional semis).

BHS then beat Patrick Henry 2 to 1 on May 13 in the Division III district quarterfinals ( formerly called sectional finals)

BHS advanced to Division III Districts at Bath. The Pirates will play Allen East at 5 p.m., Wednesday, May 18.

The winner advances to district finals at 5 p.m., Friday,  May 20.

Bluffton High School boys’ and girls’ track teams both finished runner-up in the Northwest Conference meet in Ada on May 14. Columbus Grove won both boys’ and girls’ titles.

BHS junior Trevor Bassitt was named male athlete of the year.

Bluffton HS girls’ softball team won its Division III sectional title beating Patrick Henry 2-1.

The Pirates now 12-6 advance to district action next week.  PH ends its season at 13-8. Sami Fruchey (9-5) was the winning pitcher.

Bluffton scored two runs in the second inning, while PH scored one in the third. It was scoreless after that. Bluffton’s runs were scored by Jazmynn Wilson and Aimee Ritter.

Ritter and Mara Minnig had runs batted in for the Pirates. Five BHS batters had one hit each. They were Wilson, Ritter, Minnig, Fruchey and Taylor Monday.
