More football contest are coming.

The Bluffton Icon is offering a National Football League weekly contest starting this week. It replaces the high school football contest that ended on Friday. The NFL contest will continue all the way to the Super Bowl.

The college football contest will continue until the end of the regular college season. A college bowl contest will replace it in December.

With a promising start to the season that included a 3-2 record and a near upset of Ada, Bluffton would only finish with a 5-5 record.

Season stats and game stats are in attachments at the bottom of this story.

However when you consider that a freshman quarterback played in the final 5 games of the season, the .500 record sure seems like a significant accomplishment and the future prospects for this team look much brighter with quarterback Robbie Stratton getting invaluable experience.

A common clich'e in football is that if you run the ball and stop the run, you win.

That's exactly what Bluffton did as the defense played their best game of the season, shutting out Paulding and limiting them to 26 yards on the ground, and freshman quarterback Robbie Stratton ran for 3 touchdowns as Bluffton won 21-0.

Paulding started the game with a 77-yard drive but quickly ended with a R.J. Stratton interception. R.J. Stratton also added 4 catches for 58 yards.
