Bluffton High School's girls' tennis team "won" the mythical Northwest Conference title for the second straight year with a 3-2 decision over Lima Central Catholic Monday afternoon at Harmon Courts.
BHS and LCC are the only NWC schools with girls tennis, so there is no official championship. Jess Hunter won at No. 2 singles, while the doubles teams of Ashlin Gable/Emily Sprague and Kristi Geiser/Liz Diller clinched the win.
BHS hosts Celina in a makeup match Tuesday at Harmon Courts.

Last Saturday, the Pirates travelled to the Ottawa-Glandorf Blue/Gold CC Invitational, the site of their district competition in October. It's a confusing course in some ways, with crossing paths and tight turns.
In the Gold division race (Bluffton was in Blue), a few girls finishing in the top ten were disqualified for unknowingly cutting a portion of the course.
THE COMPLETE GAME STATS ARE AN ATTACHMENT TO THIS STORY.
On paper you'd like Crestview won the game: they had the ball 7 minutes longer than the Pirates, they had 62 offensive plays to Bluffton's 39, they had more first downs and more total offense.
Yet the scoreboard belonged to Bluffton. Traveling to Crestview on Sept. 17 for an NWC contest, Bluffton came home the winner 28-20. The win raises the Pirates to 2-2 overall and 1-1 in the NWC.
Bluffton girls' soccer team traveled to Riverdale Monday evening for a
match-up against the Lady Falcons. Both teams entered the field ready to play, however, Riverdale soon dominated the entire game.
Their first goal came just 9 minutes into the game which was quickly followed with 2 more goals in the next 2 minutes. Bluffton slowly began to crumble.
