Beacon Life Ministries to install new pastor

Beacon Life Ministries, 125 N. Main St. is getting a new head pastor. The church will be installing Steven Heinze at the 11:00  a.m. worship service on Sunday, August 21. The church also has a 9:30 a.m. Sunday school class.

Heinze is currently pursuing a Masters in Divinity from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (online).

Summer-Fall session of GriefShare scheduled

A summer-fall session of weekly GriefShare support group sessions has been scheduled at Bluffton Town Hall. This session will run from August 18-November 17.

Ice cream social celebration for 150th anniversary of Pleasant View UMC

Pleasant View United Methodist Church, Bluffton, will host an old-fashioned ice cream social from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 23. The social is part of the church’s ongoing 150th anniversary celebration.

The menu includes shredded chicken sandwiches, homemade chicken and noodles, hot dogs, assorted chips, pies, cookies, ice cream, lemonade and water.

Donations accepted. The public is welcome.

Trinity Lutheran School installs new teachers; enrollment open for fall

Enrollment open for Fall 2022

Trinity Lutheran School, 105 Allen Street, Jenera, has three new teachers who were installed in the church service on Sunday, July 10.

St. Mary Catholic Church to host Catholicism classes

Fr. Luyen Dau, will be offering a class on Catholicism beginning at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 13, 2022 and continuing each Wednesday for six weeks.

Classes will be held at St. Mary Catholic Church, 160 N. Spring St.

During this class there will be a DVD series by Bishop Robert Barron shown each week with a question and answer period following. A half-hour social time with refreshments will follow.

Bluffton Presbyterian holds Bike to Church Sunday on July 17

Bluffton Presbyterian Church, 112 N. Main, is having Bike to Church Sunday on July 17, when you are invited to pedal from your home to worship at 10:15 a.m.

Following the regular worship service in the sanctuary, a special "blessing of the bikes" will be held on the church lawn.

Organizers note, "By biking to church, you will get to worship, stay active, save on gas money, and lower your carbon footprint! Bikes may be placed in the bike rack in the alley or in the yard during worship. See you then, and don't forget your helmet!"
