A "Back 2 School" night will be held at Trinity Lutheran School's soccer field, 105 Allen St., Jenera, on Friday, Aug. 17.
Family fun, games and activities along with the serving of lemonade, iced tea, ice cream and popcorn will begin at 7:30 p.m. followed by the movie of The Lion King 1 1/2 at 8:30 p.m. Everything is free.
Please bring a chair or blanket to relax on for the movie. The event is planned for outdoors but in case of inclement weather, it will be held in the school's gymnasium. Everyone is welcome.

Some "high church" work is underway this month in Bluffton. E. Lee Construction of Delphos, is doing outside restoration to the brick work of the First United Methodist Church.,

The churches of Pandora and Gilboa are offering food boxes for households in the Pandora-Gilboa School District. The boxes are designed to provide nine meals for a family of four.
In order to pick up a box, you must register by 5 p.m. on Aug. 20 by calling 419-384-3905. Boxes will be available for pickup on Saturday, Aug. 25 at 11 a.m. at the Pandora United Methodist Church located on State Route 12.

The Pandora United Methodist Church will host a free community meal on Wednesday, Aug. 29, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the church fellowship hall, 108 E. Washington St. Pandora.
The meal this month is provided by the Mission Committee and is hamburger/hot dog, macaroni salad, chips, dessert and beverage.

There's a national park in the sanctuary of St. John's United Church of Christ.

That's because Bluffton Community Vacation Bible School is in session this week. SonRise National Park! is the theme. VBS is sponsored by the Bluffton Area Ministerial Association.

Participating churches include
• Bluffton Presbyterian Church,
• Emmanuel United Church of Christ,
• English Lutheran Church,
• First Mennonite Church,
• First United Methodist Church,
• St. John’s United Church of Christ, and
• St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

The Bluffton Area Ministerial Association will sponsor its annual summer community worship service on Sunday, July 29. The service begins at 9 a.m. and is held on the Bluffton Presbyterian Church lawn.
The theme is "For the Beauty of the Earth" and the service will continue the VBS theme from the previous week.
This year, there will be only one offering taken, and that will be for the community food pantry.
