Bluffton Christians will worship together as a community body on Sunday morning as they have for the past several years. A community worship service, planned by the Bluffton Area Ministerial Association, will be held at 9 a.m., Sunday, Aug. 1, on the Bluffton Presbyterian Church lawn.

Anne Boyd of the Herb Society will talk on medicinal herbs and herbs for cooking at the August Primtimers meeting. The event is at noon, Tuesday, Aug. 3, at St. John Mennonite Church, Pandora. Primetimers is a program for senior citizens and is open to the public.

The Bluffton Area Ministerial Association community meals continue in August at the Bluffton Senior Citizens Center. August's meals are Thursday, Aug. 5, catered by Ebenezer Mennonite Church, and Thursday, Aug. 19, catered by Emmanuel United Church of Christ.

The meals are free and open to the public and begin at 6 p.m. Donations are accepted. Those donations support the Bluffton Food Pantry.

Beth Kuntz, a junior and Spanish Education major at Bluffton University from Covington, Ohio, traveled to Colombia on Wednesday, July 14, as part of a delegation sponsored by Christian Peacemaker Teams (CPT).

Based in the oil-refining city of Barrancabermeja, the delegation will visit and support the Colombian Women's Social Movement Against War and for Peace.

An ice cream social will be held at Trinity Lutheran School, 105 Allen St., Jenera, on Thursday, July 29 at 7 p.m. Free ice cream will be served and there will be entertainment and a watermelon seed spitting contest. More information is at www.trinitylutheran-jenera.org Everyone is invited.

A Rally Point River (bike) Ride is set for Saturday, Aug. 21, at Ottawa Metro Park, 2632 Ada Road, Lima, according to Jared Diller of Rally Point Youth Center.

Bike ride options include 50-mile, 100-mile or a 20-mile family route. The event includes a free recovery massage, refreshment stops, lunch with live music and sag wagon service.

"Your entry fee goes to support Rally Point Youth Center, a much needed resource for the Lima area," said Diller.

Individuals who sign-up by Aug. 14 pay $30 (family $75); after Aug. 14, $35 or family $80).
