Laura Kissel, professor of media arts in the school of visual arts and design at the University of South Carolina, will speak during Bluffton University’s Forum at 11 a.m. on Nov. 6 in Yoder Recital Hall. The title of her presentation is “Making the Film ‘Cotton Road.’”
The documentary film director/producer will discuss why and how she made the award winning film “Cotton Road,” which will be screened at 7 p.m. on the same day in Yoder Recital Hall.
The surgery department of Blanchard Valley Health System (BVHS) has recently reached the milestone of 5,000 surgical procedures completed using a daVinci robot, which allows surgeons to perform minimally invasive surgery. BVHS is only the second health system in northwest Ohio to achieve this milestone.
A winter sports parent meeting takes place at 7 p.m., Monday, Oct. 29, in the Bluffton High School gym. Any 7th through 12th grader participating in winter sports is required to attend with a parent and/or guardian.
Two special events take place this week in the Bluffton elementary.
ELEMENTARY BOOK FAIR: The book fair is this week. Daily hours: 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. Monday-Thursday and 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Friday. Family Night is Tuesday, from 6 until 8 p.m.
