(MCCOMB) - The Bluffton baseball team dropped their opening game of the 2018 season by a 9-6 count to McComb.
Drew Rayle and Kaden Reneker each had two singles for Bluffton. Brady Romick knocked in two runs for the Pirates. Aaron Belcher took the loss on the mound.
Bluffton’s tree commission will be busy this spring as its on-going efforts reap recognition for the village.
Minutes from its March 22 reveal several activities underway in April.
Perhaps the most significant is that Bluffton will celebrate its quarter-century as a Tree City USA in April.
The Tree City presentations are April 18 in Upper Sandusky. The village will receive the Growth Award during the event. Joanne Antibus of the commission will give a presentation during the ceremony on the Bluffton Girl Scout’s tree labeling project in the village arboretum.
Turkey Vultures, or buzzards, since the early 2000, are a common spring and summer bird here. With wingspans of up to 6 feet, in early March they return to Bluffton, from wherever they wintered. Photos in this collection are taken in the woods along Campus Drive, where the congress gathers on most morning.
In recognition of Mother’s Day, the Blanchard Valley Health Foundation provides an opportunity in the Bluffton community to honor or remember a mother. You may recognize her as a “Founding Mother.”
A recognition wall is located outside the hospital maternity area at The Women’s Center of Bluffton Hospital.
This wall features “Founding Mothers” acknowledged by friends and family members.
