British Actor and playwright Michael Mears along with Maria Santelli and Jake Short, executive director and administrative and outreach coordinator, respectively for the Center for Conscience and War, will give two presentations on April 3 on the campus of Bluffton University.
At 11 a.m. in Yoder Recital Hall, Mears, Santelli and Short, a 2010 Bluffton graduate, will present “100 Years of Conscientious Objection to War: Conscience, Dissent, Resistance and Civil Liberties from World War I through Today.”
Monday, April 9, is the deadline to register to vote or change address for the May 8 election. The Allen County board of elections, located at 204 N. Main St., Lima, is open 8:30-4 Monday through Friday.

Several Bluffton High School athletes are Northwest Conference scholar athletes, according to Jim Raabe, NWC commissioneer.
To be named a scholar-athlete a student must be a letter winner in a sport. The gold level is for students with grade point averages of 3.5 to 4.0 during the season. A silver level is for students with grade point averages of 3.00 to 3.49 during the season.
BLUFFTON, Ohio - Gabe Makin (Elida) has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Field Athlete of the Week following his pole vault victory in Virginia over the weekend.
Makin won the pole vault at the Washington and Lee Carnival on Saturday. The freshman cleared 4.70 meters which currently ranks second in NCAA Division III. Makin opened his outdoor campaign much like he finished the indoor portion of the season when he bested the competition (15-7) with a Heartland Conference championship at Anderson on February 18!
