And there's lots of new programs at the library, like student art month

Here's the March schedule of events at Bluffton Public Library:

Winter Book Games reading program for children, teens, and adults ends in March.

Pick up a Winter Book Games Bingo card  or download and print it from our website. Then, read five or more books to receive a Bingo and a completion prize. At this time, you may also enter a drawing to win a larger prize.

Kenneth Beeker, Bluffton Uniiversity senior communication and history double major, will present “Deconstructing David Barton: Possession and Particularity in Partisan History Writing” during an 11 a.m. Forum on Tuesday, March 13, in the Reading Room of Musselman Library.

Beeker, a native of McComb, will share on his departmental honors project which looked at a rhetorical analysis of the revisionist historical writing of David Barton.

This event is free and open to the public.

 

March in like a lion

You could say that February went out like a lamb and March came in like a lion.

The temperature on Feb. 28 ranged from a low of 43 to a high of 61. On March 1 the area experienced snow flurries.

This announcement is from Ohio Department of Transportation involving Monday work on I-75:

Interstate 75 southbound, just north of Beaverdam, will be restricted to one lane through the work zone during repair of cable rail in the median on Monday, March 5.

The restriction will be in place from approximately 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Work is being performed by ODOT District 1 Roadway Sevices. Traffic control by the ODOT Allen County maintenance garage.

Bluffton Police Department released its February Docket, which follows:

February 1

  • Officers arrested John W. Deaton, 43, Rockford, for driving under suspension following a traffic stop in the area of State Route 103 and Interstate 75 for a registration violation. During the same incident, officers also arrested Rebecca Purtee, 42, Rockford, for wrongful entrustment. Both cases are pending in Findlay Municipal Court.

AEP has contracted with Nelson Tree Service for some tree trimming around power lines in Bluffton this winter and spring. You've seen the white trucks with "Work Ahead" signs throughout the village. Here two employees are wrestling with branches behind Bob and Bev Amstutz's house on South Jackson Street.
