In honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day 2022, the Icon offers the following contribution from Ada, where Dr. King spoke in January 1968.

In a new installment of the public policy series “Critical Questions,” ONU student fellows Kennedy Aikey and Hailey Trimpey reflect on the life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. (MLK).

Jazzercise, Inc. has announced the relocation of the Jazzericse Bluffton studio beginning on January 29, 2022. Classes will now take place at the Bluffton Family Recreation center, 215 Snider Rd.

Classes will be led by certified Jazzercise instructors Jenna Buroker, Chase Eikenbary, Katie Keifer and Trista Pollock. Jazzercise Bluffton offers 13 classes weekly.

The Bluffton High School girls basketball team swamped local non-conference rival Pandora-Gilboa 67-30 on the road Saturday afternoon, January 15.

The Lady Pirates improved to 12-4 overall with the win, while P-G fell to 7-7 with the loss.

Senior point guard Sami Scoles tallied 14 points to lead the victors. 

Senior wing Kylie Monday scored 13 points, while classmate post Kylie Stackhose netted a dozen markers. 

Freshman 6-2 post Ayla Grandey and junior guard Kendal Giesige each tallied 11 points.

The Bluffton University women's basketball team rallied for a 69-68 victory at Franklin College on a cold Saturday, Jan. 15, 2022. Bluffton improved to 9-5 overall and 4-3 in the Heartland Conference with its seventh win in the past eight games.

The Bluffton University men's basketball team went on the road after a 14-day break and took down Franklin College 70-65 for its first HCAC victory of the season on Saturday, Jan. 15, 2022. Bluffton improved to 5-7 overall and 1-4 in the Heartland, while Franklin fell to 7-9 and 3-5 in the conference.
