Bluffton has extra holiday shopping opportunities with additional hours posted at the Bluffton Senior Center, Roots by Strattons and Twisted Whisk Cafe.

The Bluffton Senior Center, 132 N Main St.,  is open on Saturdays from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. until Christmas.

Roots by Strattons, 111 S. Main St., is open until 7 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Twisted Whisk Cafe, 101 S. Main St., is open from 2-5:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 5 with a Pop-Up Shop featuring allergy friendly treats, cups, cards, soaps, candles, ornaments and wooden Santa figures.

There’s a pandemic. This one is specific to deer and, subsequently, should be of interest to deer hunters. It is called chronic wasting disease. Chronic wasting disease is similar to Mad Cow disease, as it is caused by a prion. 

The Bluffton Police Department and Jazzercize Bluffton have teamed up for the Cruising with a Claus toy drive. Both organizations are collecting new unwrapped toys for distribution by the Bluffton Community Assistance Corporation. The next collection is:

9 a.m.-noon December 4 at Bluffton Town Hall, 154 N. Main St.

Volunteers at St. John's United Church of Christ, 223 West College Avenue, are making warm, cheerful fleece blankets and dozens of cuddly teddy bears for recipients at area continuing care facilities.

 

Carolyn (Gillett) Ladd, 79, of Delphos, passed away on November 28, 2021, at Memorial Hospital in Lima. She was born on August 23, 1942, to George and Emily (Timothy) Steager.  They both preceded her in death. She was united in marriage to Robert Ladd on June 3, 1996 who passed away November 24, 2021.

Harrison Lucius Underwood went to meet Jesus Christ, his Lord and Savior, at 3:25 p.m. on December 1, 2021, after an extended illness. He was 89 years old, the first-born son and second child of seven children born to Forrest E. and Leatha F. Underwood at Tunnel Hill (now Warsaw), Ohio.
