HARROD__The visiting Bluffton High School girls basketball team raced to a big early lead and smothered backyard Northwest Conference rival Allen East 44-28 in their regular season finale showdown on Thursday, February 12.

Bluffton built a 13-3 lead after the first quarter as sophomore guard Maelee Miller poured in 10 early points, hitting two three-point goals. 

Steady Pirate senior Blair Utendorf then buried two triples in the second stanza despite AE closing within 21-14 at halftime.

FROM YOUTUBE__Maumee Bay Turf Inc. recently shared this video celebrating and documenting the construction of the new turf practice field that expands space for recess, marching band practice and sports practices. The accompanying soundtrack even sings out P-I-R-A-T-E-S.

The project was completed in November 2025.

NAPOLEON__The Bluffton High school girls bowling team completed its first varsity season by competing in the Div. II sectional tournament hosted by Napoleon at the River City Bowl-a-Way Lanes on Thursday, February 12.

The Pirate girls finished in last place at the 13-team event.

“It is always sad when a season comes to the end, but the ladies really put in a strong performance today,” said head coach Ben Nye. “We have a solid group.”

January saw our kick-off with a hymn sing exploring some of the hymns and singing practices present in the worship lives of our founding families. Also, some enjoyed the free admission Saturday matinee showing of the movie TRUE GRIT at the Shannon Theater. Kids and adults alike were considered for all activities planned this year.  All members of your family can participate and enjoy our monthly events.
