Playing at home, the Bluffton girls soccer team handed Miller City its first defeat with a decisive 6-0 shutout Thursday night, September 23, at Steinmetz Field.

Junior Allison Diller netted a hat trick and passed out two assists to pace the victors.

Junior Sami Scoles tallied two goals in support as Bluffton raced to a 5-0 halftime lead and cruised to the win.

The Pirate girls improved to 7-2-1 overall with the non-league win. 

MC fell to 5-1-3 with the defeat.

Senior Reagan Mittendorf scored in the first minute, and Bluffton was never threatened.

The Bluffton girls tennis team defeated visiting Upper Sandusky 3-2 on a chilly Thursday evening, September 23.

The Lady Pirate netters improved to 4-9 with the victory. 

Pirate sophomore Caitlyn Couch cruised to a 6-1, 6-2 win at second singles.

Seniors Libby Frazier and Ellie Nickel won at first doubles in three sets 7-5, 3-6, and 10-5 in a tiebreaker.

Bluffton sophomores Alyssa Hoffman and Leah Klingler teamed up to win in a 9-7 pro set at second doubles. 

The Pirate girls play at Archbold Saturday, September 25.

Host Bluffton lost a close four-setter to Crestview in a Northwest Conference volleyball match Thursday night, September 23.

The Lady Pirates fell to 9-3 overall and 2-1 in league play with the 25-22, 22-25, 25-22, 25-21 defeat. 

Crestview improved to 8-4 and 3-1 in NWC play with the victory that ended the Pirate seven-match win streak.

Senior Kylie Stackhouse led Bluffton with 15 kills and five blocks. She also served one ace.

The gazebo at Bluffton Presbyterian Church received some finishing touches this week with the installation of landscaping. Not seen in this view: a concrete ramp for easy access to the platform.
