Journalist and author Michael Finkel will be joining the April 3 Noon Book Discussion to discuss his New York Times bestseller, The Stranger in the Woods: The Extraordinary Story of the Last True Hermit.

Along with his nonfiction works, Finkel has written for a number of well known publications, including National Geographic, GQ, The Atlantic, Rolling Stone, and The New York Times Magazine.

Copies of the book are available for checkout at the front desk of the library.
To ensure enough seating, please register at the library before Wednesday, April 3.

The Bluffton Public Library has received a donation of six new books from the Bluffton Garden Study Club.

The Bluffton Garden Study Club was an active club from 1955-2018, and the club has generously donated these gardening books in honor of their years together.

The books may be found in the new non-fiction section of the library.  Please visit the library and enjoy our newest additions to the collection.

Officers were elected for The Beaverdam Bunch 4-H Club on March 25th at their last meeting. They elected President, Cierra Ackerman; Vice-president, Rebekah Hoff; Secretary, Addison Businger; Reporter, Zoe Kramer; Health Officer, Will Steiner ; Safety Officer, Daniel Creeger; and our Co-Recreation Officers, Carter Dyer and Trevor Smith.

Reminder: make sure to turn in all due forms and money by next meeting, April 8th.

A special youth service will be held to celebrate Unity Sunday at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Jenera, on Sunday, March 31 at 10:30 a.m.

There will be no service at 8 a.m, but Sunday School and Bible classes will begin as usual at 9:20 a.m. The youth of the church will provide the music, do the readings and explain why the church follows an order of service. 

Following the service, a potluck meal will be held in the school’s multi-purpose room.

The Bluffton University baseball team tied it in the eighth and took advantage of back-to-back Capital errors in the ninth to win their second game in three days on Tuesday, March 26! Bluffton evened up its record at 9-9, while the Crusaders fell to 4-12 overall.

Dennis L. Arnold, 76, died on Wednesday, March 27, 2019, at 1:35 a.m., at the Mennonite Memorial Home, Bluffton.

He was born on May 28, 1942, in Lima, Ohio, to Francis D. and Betty (Wise) Arnold and they preceded him in death. On Aug. 29, 1964, Dennis married Judith “Judy” Schenkemeyer and she survives in LaFayette.
