A 2019 village street maintenance schedule is in the works, Jesse Blackburn, village administrator, told Bluffton council members in late February.
The paving schedule was among topics of the council street and alley committee meeting on Feb. 19.
The village compiled a street maintenance inventory covering over 25 streets and alleys. The inventory shows when each street was most recently paved or had work completed. The inventory goes as far back as 2002.
Through artwork, letters and scrapbooks, Bluffton University archivist and 1999 graduate Carrie Phillips is sharing the unique history of Bluffton during and after World War I.
Phillips developed the exhibit “Of Bronze and Bravery” as a complement to “Voices of Conscience,” the traveling Kauffman Museum exhibit on display at Bluffton’s Musselman Library.
The two exhibits highlight the differing experiences of Mennonites during the Great War Era.
Bluffton schools superintendent Greg Denecker reads a book to Kindergarten students in classes taught by Kim Fritsch and Kelly Yarnell. A March Madness contest is underway in the elementary where students vote for their favorite children's book. The superintendent, a volunteer reader, read "The Book With No Pictures" to students.
Spring sports are on the way at Bluffton High School. Alex Hanna, athletic director, provided the Icon with the spring sports schedule for:
