Remember when you were a first grader and it was the last week of school? Did you spend an afternoon in the Buckeye Park? That tradition continues today. Here's the BHS class of 2029 as first graders doing their thing at the Buckeye.
Bluffton Main Street ghosts reappear on Friday, June 15.
Those shadowy figures grew up on leaded gasoline, have 8-V engines under their hoods and ride on white-wall tires. They arrive in a variety of bright colors and don’t have FM radios.
Some have strange names like: Plymouth, Studebaker, Mercury, Edsel, VW Bug, Woody, Oldsmobile, Desoto and Packard.
Over 200 of them return to Bluffton for the 51st Bluffton Festival of Wheels cruise-in, sponsored by the Bluffton Lions.
A group of graduating Bluffton High School seniors have planned and are leading a Baccalaureate service for their classmates, parents, teachers, and the community at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, May 24, according to Rev. Jeremy Mann, pastor of Emmanuel United Church of Christ.
The service is on College Avenue in front of Bluffton High School.
Ballalaureate will feature student readers and speakers and a praise and worship team of high school students.
Bluffton Family Recreation, 215 Snider Road, will hold a Strider Bike Camp at 6 p.m. each evening from Monday to Friday, July 23-27, according to Daniel Tinch, executive director.
Registration is now underway for youth ages 2 to 5. Registration closes July 8.
“The camp develops confidence in youth bike riders in five short lessons,” said Tinch. “The camp jump starts children’s growth and development and is an excellent way to keep kids active and health.”

The S.H.A.N.N.O.N. Service Club of Bluffton announces the winners of its “Service To Humanity” Scholarship Awards, given to graduating seniors of Bluffton High School.
Winners of the $800 scholarships:
• Sydney Hoff, daughter of Scott and Brigette Hoff. Sydney plans to study elementary education at Taylor University.
• Kelli Leugers, daughter of Darin and Lisa Leugers. Kelli will enter the medical field at The Ohio State University.
