Bluffton Family Recreation is accepting registrations for adult Group X classes this week, according to Daniel Tinch, BFR executive director.
The Spring Session 1 runs from Monday, March 4, to Friday, March 29. Go online at www.bfronline.com to register for any class or contact BFR, 215 Snider Road, Bluffton, 419-358-4150.
“BFR offers a variety of programs and fitness-based classes for members and non-members,” said Tinch.
Doug Adams, folk singer, will perform on the Bluffton town hall concert series, 154 N. Main St., Bluffton, at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 28, according to Jeff Yoder.
A native of Cincinnati, Adams has lived in northwest Ohio for the past 27 years. He started his folk singing career back in the late 1960s and early 1970s.
He was been greatly influenced by Woody Guthrie, Tom Paxton, Pete Seeger, Peter, Paul, and Mary and Bob Dylan.
The Gardeners of the Bluffton/Pandora Area (GBPA) invite the public to a lecture on seed starting basics, at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 12, in the lower level of the Bluffton Public Library, according to Victoria Zeits.
Marilyn Beltz, member and past president of the Hancock County Master Gardener Volunteers, is the speaker.
“Starting your own plants from seeds is fun and a great way to grow either heirloom or unusual varieties that can’t be found in local green houses,” said Zeits.
The powerful painkiller Oxycontin, widely blamed for kickstarting the nation’s opioid crisis, will no longer be newly prescribed for injured workers in the Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation’s system starting July 1.
Following a recommendation from BWC Chief Medical Officer Terry Welsh, the agency’s Board of Directors voted today to drop the drug from the BWC formulary and replace it with what Welsh calls “an equally effective but harder-to-abuse drug” named Xtampza ER.
