Bluffton Boy Scouts from troop 256 will be Scouting for Food in Bluffton on Saturday, March 10. Residents may place non-perishable food items in bags on their front porches. All food is donated to the Bluffton Food Pantry, which supports families in need within the Bluffton school district.
Dakota Bricker, a Bluffton High School senior, is the February BHS student of the month.
He is involved in many sports including football, where he was named to the All- NWC first team in 2015 and 2017 and second team in 2016 with an honorable mention in 2017; baseball where is he was named to the All-NWC first team-2016, and second team in 2015 and 2017, and he played on the basketball team.
An Easter Egg Hunt for kids ages 8 and under is scheduled for Saturday, March 24, 10 a.m., at Mennonite Memorial Home.
The annual event, sponsored by Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio (MHCO) and Bluffton McDonald’s, will take place rain or shine.
All children must be accompanied by an adult and should bring their own basket for collecting eggs. Families are encouraged to arrive a few minutes early as the eggs are collected very quickly once the hunt begins.
The Bluffton High School academic team finished 2nd out of 40 teams at the Wright State University Lake Campus Scholastic Tournament in late February. Orders are now being placed for this summer’s downtown flowerpots.
According to Susie and Steve Stratton of Stratton Greenhouses, “This is our 12th year for providing the potted plants on Main Street.”

To make this happen Strattons invite contributions to keep the program going. This year the sponsorships are $130 per pot. If payments are received by Saturday, March 24, the cost is $120 per pot.
