Weather was perfect, crowd was huge, everyone had a great time

Bluffton's favorite cold-weather event was pretty mild (weather-wise). Yes, this year's Blaze of Lights went off with a hitch.

Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Service sponsors the service at The Centre

The holidays can be a particularly difficult time to cope with the loss of a loved one and the Tree of Remembrance memorial service provides a forum where families can come together to express their grief, but also find peace for years to come. 

Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services will hold its  Tree of Remembrance memorial service on Sunday, Dec. 3, at The Centre at Bluffton, 601 N. Main St., for those who have lost a loved one this year or in years past. 

Persons attending may begin arriving at 1 p.m. A brief memorial service is at 2 p.m.

A one-day Columbus Crew winter break camp takes place Friday, Dec. 29, at Bluffton Family Recreation, 215 Snider Road, Bluffton.

The camp is for youth ages 6 to 14 and takes place from 3 to 6 p.m. The cost is $75 per camper.

The Allen County Bike and Pedestrian Task Force will hold its annual Volunteer Recognition and Awards Program on Thursday, Nov. 30, at The Met in Lima, 306 North Main St. from 5 – 7 p.m. 

Volunteers will be recognized for their contribution to assisting with bike and pedestrian counts, bike rodeos, and their work towards supporting a bike and pedestrian friendly community. 

Recognition will be given for the Advocate of the Year, Business of the Year, and for other volunteers. 

Center is open Saturday mornings in December - lots of events on the calendar

December’s Bluffton Senior Citizen dinner moves to 11 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 11, according to Tonya Meyer, director.

The 11 a.m. start enables members to attend the Bluffton elementary Christmas concert later in the afternoon.

The Rainbow Dulcimers will perform during the program. Tickets at $5 each should be purchased by Dec. 6.
