A miniature village exists on Main Street. Icon viewers will find it in the Ellerbrock Spine and Soft Tissue window, 120 N. Main St. The Icon posted several views of the village in the next photos.

Mark your calendars! Our annual Santa’s Fire Truck is back on Dec. 5 at 6 p.m.! Celebrate the holiday season with the Bluffton Fire Department and meet Santa, too! No registration is necessary, so bring the whole family to listen to a holiday themed storytime led by the Bluffton Fire Department, and then make crafts and get pictures with Santa afterwards. This program is sure to be well attended!

Birchaven Village will be holding its annual Bazaar Days craft and bake sale Friday, Dec. 8 through Friday, Dec. 22 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Birchaven Gift Shop, 15100 Birchaven Lane, Findlay.

The event will feature a variety of items handmade by residents, staff, volunteers and families. Items for sale include:

*  Homemade candy including fudge, buckeyes, turtles, peppermint bark and chocolate-covered pretzels

*  Hand-crocheted doilies

*  One-of-a-kind tree ornaments

*  Great teachers’ gifts

*  Jar mixes and hard tack candy

Bluffton improved to 2-1 on the season with a 71-49 victory at USV.  BHS led 34-13 at halftime after outscoring USV 15-4 in the second quarter.  

Four Lady Pirates scored in double figures for a balanced attack.  Alivia Koenig scored 15 including four 3’s, Averey Rumer and Libby Schaadt each score 13 and Katie Prater 12.  Kayla White led the team in rebounding from her guar position with 7.  Ashley Eachus and Schaadt nabbed 6 each with Rumer and Prater collecting 5.  As a team, BHS outboarded USV 42-32. 

Bluffton’s boys basketball team opens the 2017-18 campaign Friday evening with a home contest against Leipsic.  The Pirates will look to continue their momentum after making the District Tournament the past two seasons. BHS finished with a 13-12 record last year including a 4-4 mark in NWC play.
