LEXINGTON, Ky. - The Transylvania University men's soccer team scored two quick goals and held off visiting Bluffton for a 2-0 victory on Saturday, Oct. 28, 2017. Bluffton finished its season at 1-16 overall and 1-8 in the Heartland Conference, while Transy takes its 15-1 mark (8-1 HCAC) into the conference tournament as the #1 seed.
LEXINGTON, Ky. - The Bluffton University women's soccer team held Transylvania at bay for over 89 minutes, but the Pioneers found the back of the net with 35 seconds to play for a 1-0 shutout of the Beavers. Bluffton wrapped up its 2017 campaign with a 3-14 mark, including 2-7 in the Heartland Conference. Transy improved to 6-9-3 and 4-4-1 in the HCAC.

In a heart-stopping District Final boys' soccer game at Kalida, the Bluffton Pirates finally had their way with the Kalida Wildcats. The game went to sudden death shootout even, and Bluffton final got the result, 4-3 on Simon Derstine's shot.
Bluffton’s Braden Conrad got the Pirates on the board assisted by John Shriner at the 14 minute in the game. Kalida did not answer back until they evened it (#18) at the 68 min.
The Ohio Department of Transportation is proposing to repair concrete pavements along ramp sections at the Interstate 75 interchange with state Route 696 and at the state Route 696 interchange with U.S. 30 in Allen County near the Village of Beaverdam.
Some concrete pavement repair work will take place along state Route 696 near the Interstate 75 interchange with state Route 696. Weekend closures of these ramps are expected and vehicle traffic will be detoured during closures. State Route 696 will remain open to traffic as the repairs to concrete pavement are being completed.
Full Sound Chamber Group will perform in concert at 7 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 29, at the English Lutheran Church, 111 Grove St., Bluffton, according to Rev. Kevin Mohr, pastor.
The concert marks the 500th anniversary of the start of the Protestant Reformation in 1517.
The Full Sound Chamber Group consists of five brothers forming a string quintet of two violins, a viola, cello, and double-bass, performing in the central Ohio area.
