BLUFFTON, Ohio - The Bluffton University men's soccer team dropped its 2017 home finale to Manchester University 5-0 on a cold and windy Wednesday, Oct. 25. Manchester improved to 9-8 overall and 5-3 in the Heartland Conference, while Bluffton stands 1-15 and 1-7 in the HCAC.

Manchester took a 2-0 lead at the break and added three second half tallies, including two in the final three minutes,  for a 5-0 shutout at the Sears Complex.

Recipients of Ray Ramseyer Philanthropy Award

Bluffton University presented the Ray Ramseyer Philanthropy Award to Larry and Shirley Copeland of Findlay, at the President’s Dinner on Saturday, Oct. 7, recognizing the couple for their dedication, service and philanthropic support.

Bluffton voter Ron Lora asks a question for Bluffton council candidates during the Tuesday night candidate forum. Bradley Kauffman, project director of a forthcoming hymnal from MennoMedia, led members of the Bluffton community in hymns that explored the musical heritage of local Swiss immigrant churches.

The Swiss Community Historical Society event, held in Yoder Recital Hall on the campus of Bluffton University, was part of The Great Day of Singing on Oct. 22.

The musical selections ranged from songs of the Anabaptist martyrs, to favorite American hymns, to new songs from the global church proposed for the “Resonate” song and worship collection. (Jena O’Brien photo)
